Administrative Assistant & Shipping Manager

The ideal candidate must be highly organized, possess excellent customer service skills, be physically capable of heavy lifting, and have strong computer literacy. This position provides support to the Wine Club Manager & Office Administrator, as well as other members of the Brys Estate management team. The person in this position plays a critical role in fulfilling direct-to-consumer sales and is essential in representing the Brys Estate organization in a positive and professional manner through phone and email guest communication.

Responsibilities
Office Support

  • Handle phone calls with exceptional customer service
  • Promptly respond to and direct emails from the general inbox
  • Use an online software system to assist with managing daily reservations
  • Keep stock of office supplies and assist with coordinating office maintenance 
  • Prepare varying reports as requested by management 

Direct Shipping Management

  • Responsible for coordinating the assembly of three annual wine club allocations
  • Assemble wine orders for direct shipping
  • Assemble Secret Garden orders for direct shipping
  • Assemble and assist with wholesale order processing, shipping, and local delivery
  • Maintain organization and accurate accounting of wine inventory
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse storage and packing areas

Private Guesthouse Management

  • Prepare guest check-in packets
  • Manage and schedule cleaning teams
  • Prepare and deliver guest-requested amenities such as flowers, chocolates, etc.
  • Assist with coordinating maintenance

Other Supportive Duties

  • Support the Wine Club Manager in processing three annual wine club allocations
  • Support Digital Marketing Manager in curating holiday and corporate gift sets
  • Assist in the tasting room as needed
  • Assist with winery special events and functions
  • Attend monthly management meetings

Requirements

  • Full-time availability; weekends, some holidays, and some evenings required
  • Can repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer literacy
  • Tremendous customer service skills and willingness to go above and beyond for guests
  • College degree preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • $45,000 - 50,000 per year (paid hourly)
  • Medical and dental benefits / or stipend
  • 3 weeks of paid time off

Fall Tasting Room Staff

We are looking for some hard-working, friendly people to join our tasting room team for full to part-time seasonal work through November. If you have the ability to represent the Brys organization in a professional manner, intelligently share information about our wines and services, appropriately encourage sales, and have the desire to help create unforgettable guest experiences we want to hear from you!

Previous service experience and wine knowledge is preferred, but not required. For more information on working at Brys Estate and/or to apply, please email Tess tess@brysestate.com. Interviews would be scheduled at a convenient time for both parties, and the interview would be conducted with our Tasting Room Manager, Ernest.

At this time, possible work positions include:

  • Table server
  • Table busser
  • Barback (either on the elevated outdoor deck or Lawn Bar)
  • Retail & bottle sales inside the tasting room
  • Kitchen staff (we are not a full service restaurant; food items include cheese & charcuterie boards)

Possible duties include:

  • Serve guests seated at tables on the elevated deck or inside the tasting room
  • Provide accurate information and answer questions about our wines, service options, property, history, sales/promotions, Secret Garden, Wine Club, special events, and more
  • Provide water service to tables and bus guest areas (remove glassware and finished cheese boards, clean and sanitize tables, etc.)
  • Pour wine for servers or guests on elevated outdoor deck, at Lawn Bar or inside the tasting room, and keep glassware clean and stocked behind the bar
  • Operate our POS system using an iPad and handle cash and credit card sales
  • Assist with the opening and closing procedures, and ongoing tasting room, elevated outdoor deck, and Lawn Bar maintenance and cleanliness
  • (Kitchen Staff) Prepare food items for cheese boards, as well as craft and deliver cheese boards to guests, clean dishware, and assist with glassware polishing
  • Working weekends including Labor Day Weekend

Ideal candidates will possess the ability to:

  • Work quickly and efficiently
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance in accordance with dress code
  • Engage in friendly, courteous guest interactions
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse mix of guests and coworkers
  • Operate iPads and have knowledge of basic computer functions
  • Be on their feet for long stretches of time
  • Lift, load, and carry 50lbs (case of wine)
  • Carry out written and oral instructions from tasting room management and supervisors

Compensation

  • Average hourly rate (base + tips): $19-24 or more, based on experience
